Purpose and subject matter of the journal

The journal is dedicated to Italian Studies and has a philological character. Its pages are also open to related fields.

The journal publishes works by Polish and foreign researchers in the fields of linguistics, literature, translation, literary theory, reception, didactics of foreign languages, history and culture of Italy and Italian language. It also includes comparative and interdisciplinary approaches, with a particular emphasis on Italian-Polish cultural contacts established and developed through travel, translation and teaching of Italian in Poland and Polish in Italy.

Language of articles: Italian.

Individual issues of the magazine are of a thematic nature.

The “Reviews” section includes a discussion of selected monographs, journals of Italian Studies and related disciplines published in recent years.

Proposals of reviews may be submitted on a continuous basis at italica@uwr.edu.pl.

The “Chronicle” section presents the most important scientific events for Italian Studies in Poland (books and periodicals, conferences, degrees and titles obtained by researchers connected with Polish universities).

The journal is issued under a non-exclusive Creative Commons license and distributed in Open Access. From No. 5 all scientific articles and reviews are assigned DOI numbers.
